Description
Napoleon's Chess Set and game table, displayed in Biltmore Estate library (my favorite room in the whole house), were gifted to George Vanderbilt on his 21st birthday by his close friend James McHenry. The chess set is made of natural and red-stained ivory while the table is comprised of walnut, ebony, ivory, acacia, and brass with an inlaid chess board on one side and backgammon board on the other. To achieve this rendering I digitally manipulated my photograph and then put it through a digital paint process.
