Julie, thank you for your kind comment! It is lots of fun to watch their selection process and then looking as if praying as they crack open the peanut shell!

Wonderful picture Diane ! We've seen Scrub Jays shake a peanut shell like that in our yard - - they pick up and usually shake three and fly away with the heaviest one. :)

Artist's Description

I Like My Breakfast Cold is a painterly rendering from a photograph taken in our back garden. We have a peanut ring as one of our feeders and it isn’t unusual for the Blue Jays to call out in the mornings when it needs to be refilled! Hopefully you’ll have the opportunity to watch one grab a peanut shell sometime - watch carefully because we’ve seen them shake the peanut shell and, if it’s empty, reject it and go after another! I put my original photograph through a slight edit as lots of photographers do, then a digital paint process, and then another process to adjust its light and color. (Paintique Endeavors Collection).

God has given me this gift and being a Christian, I always give Him all the glory for allowing me the opportunity of sharing it with you. More often than not, the purposes of my photographs are the result of seeing beyond what is drawing me to grab my camera. This revelation walks happily hand in hand with my desire to learn more digital creative techniques, explore and experiment with the end result enhancing what originally captures my eye. I continue to grow, both in my interests and skills and am now offering abstract and even digital artwork that are created totally through manipulations in a variety of artistic...
