Artist's Description

Antique Coast Guard Station is a painterly rendering of my photograph taken on a recent trip to the Outer Banks. It is located in Corolla, North Carolina on North Swan Beach and I spotted it while on a wild horse excursion. It was built in 1851 and was originally known as Deal's Island Station, According to my research, it was decommissioned in late 1954 or early 1955 and purchased by the Twiddys in 1988 with a full restoration to follow.
