Description
Olde Saint Nicholas is a photograph I took in our dining room. The original Saint Nicholas was born, according to my research anyway, sometime between 270 and 280 AD and was known to be generous, loved children and became a Christian Bishop. Lore has it that he tossed gold into a poor young girl's window to provide her a suitable dowry. The story continues that the gold landed in shoes or perhaps it landed in stockings! These stories contribute to Saint Nicholas becoming known as Santa Claus! I did lots of digital manipulation to my photograph, then put it through a digital paint process and then one more step of digital manipulation to achieve this painterly rendering (in my Paintique collection).
