Description
While I do appreciate the beauty of hawks, being a feeder and photographer of mostly smaller birds, I actually prefer them not to visit our back gardens. With that said, Cooper's Hawks are not unusual visitors for us. I usually see one every year. In fact, one year we came home and found one entangled in some dangling wire from one of our feeders. Was that a scary rescue, let me tell you!!!! Wearing protective gloves, my husband held the hawk tight and I cut the wire. We watched it for the balance of the day as it sat in a nearby tree until it finally gathered its senses and was able to fly away.
